It's been a rough few months.
I love you all, & I thank you for being here. But the feedback & engagement both here & on Patreon are pretty minimal & it started to feel like I was talking to an empty room. Add that to burnout, overwhelm & depression, plus the fact that yes, we are still homeless… it's just been a struggle. I don't think I even picked up my iPad during the whole month of March.
Because homelessness & burnout are still my realities, I've decided to restructure things a bit. I plan to start moving away from Patreon, as I hardly ever use it. I will be posting most of my new content here, and on my socials. I would love to have more feedback. What do you want to see? The drawing prompts have gone nowhere, but I enjoy them and will continue to update them from time to time, probably monthly. I will continue to post sketchbook photos & behind the scenes content for Patrons & subscribers. I’m on Instagram & Bluesky, and I’d love to hear back from you, either here or there.
I've also been working on some physical paintings lately. One of my short-term goals is to start showing my work locally, & to do that I have to have some work to show. Working with paints & paper heals something way down in my soul, & I wish it was something I could do every day.
But even more than that, I've begun working with fabrics & fiber & textiles. I'm very excited - although I am finding, to my dismay, that I'm making this shift at the same time as literally almost everyone else I know! But I get it - 2D art is scary right now, with AI finding its way into everything. A hand-stitched fabric collage or stitch sampler is something that AI can't fake. And it's hard to replicate - there are so many of us right now, and we're all doing different things and it's FREAKIN' AMAZING to watch and take part in.
